At Welcome Day you will be able to take advantage of many presentations designed to better acquaint you with Cal State East Bay’s offerings, assist you through the admission, financial aid, and housing process, as well as give you an opportunity to meet key staff, faculty and other students planning to attend in the Fall. We want to show you why we think Cal State East Bay is the place for you!

Please note that this event is not a substitution for new student Orientation, which is required for First-Time Freshman and highly recommended for Transfers. This event is also not a substitution for GE Advising Sessions for Freshman. Information about both of these programs will be available during Welcome Day.

What: Welcome Day for Admitted Students and Families

When: Saturday, April 22, 2017; check-in begins at 8 a.m. The formal program runs from 8:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Where: Cal State East Bay Hayward Hills Campus –Pioneer Amphitheater, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd, Hayward, CA 94542.

The Welcome Day 2017 program is designed so that you may participate in activities that are most important to you and your family. It would be in your best interest to prioritize your day ahead of time based on your needs.

Free Parking: Available in all lots. However, the closest parking lots to the event are Lots K and H. Please note however that due to the size of this event, Lots K and H will be the first to fill up, so it is important that you allow yourself ample time to find alternative parking. You may also find the following lots to be convenient to park in: G, F, E. See Campus map for locations.

Maps and Transportation: Cal State East Bay is easily accessible by major freeways and public transportation systems including the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system and AC Transit.

Free Shuttle to/from Hayward BART: On Saturdays, a CSUEB shuttle runs continuously from the Downtown Hayward BART station to the Recreation & Wellness Center (RAW) on campus. The shuttle departs every 30 minutes. The shuttle will begin running from Hayward BART at 8:00 a.m.

Accessibility Information:

Cal State University East Bay is committed to providing equal and integrated access for individuals and families with disabilities. The university has created a detailed map which highlights the accessibility features for major buildings and areas including automatic doors, ramps, and elevators. Accessibility parking is also available in all lots. Lot K and H are the closest option for parking in anticipation of the Welcome Day opening ceremony. Parking is free for the event.

Please be advised that the university does not provide personal attendants or wheel chairs. It is the sole responsibility of campus guests to arrange these logistics in anticipation of the Welcome Day 2017 program which spans across the entirety of the campus.

Food on Campus: Light pastries and coffee will be provided for all attendees. Also, enjoy lunch on your own. You will have the option to purchase food at select on-campus eateries as well as Food Trucks that are being featured especially for this event!

Accept you Offer of Admission at Welcome Day: Visit the Student Services and Administration Building (SA) Courtyard between 10:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. to accept your offer of admission, receive East Bay swag, and have your family picture taken of this commemorative event! Remember that May 1st is the deadline to accept your offer of admission!

Does it cost money to register for Welcome Day?

- There is no registration fee to attend Welcome Day

Is Welcome Day required and does it impact my admission status?

- Admitted students are not required to attend Welcome Day although it is highly recommended. Attending the event has no impact on your admission status.

Can I attend Welcome Day if I haven't accepted my offer of admission?

- Yes, you may still attend Welcome Day even if you haven't accepted your offer of admission. This event is highly recommended for students who are still making their final college selection as well as students who have already accepted or who are planning to accept their offer of admission. At Welcome Day you can get a more in depth look at Cal State East Bay and learn about its four academic colleges, 50 bachelor's degrees, student support services, student life and leadership programs and more. We want to show you why we think Cal State East Bay should be your first choice university!

Can I bring family members, friends, and small children to Welcome Day?

- Yes, our campus welcomes you and all member of your support system.

Can I bring more people than what I indicated on my registration form?

- Yes, our campus welcomes you and all member of your support system.

Can I come to Welcome Day even if I didn't register myself or my friends and family?

- Yes, our campus welcomes you and all member of your support system. Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event.

Can I arrive at Welcome Day after the event has already begun?

- Late arrivals are welcome however we advise you to download our 2017 Official Program and Event Map to determine when activities that are most important to you and your family are taking place.

Is there another Welcome Day that I can attend?

Welcome Day is held once a year every April. Please note that this event is not a substitution for new student Orientation, which is required for First-Time Freshman and highly recommended for Transfers. This event is also not a substitution for GE Advising Sessions for Freshman. Information about both of these programs will be available during Welcome Day. If you are not able to attend you can contact Student Life and Leadership directly about Orientation and General Education directly about Advising Sessions.
